Each year, thousands of ships are inspected under Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) such as the Black Sea MoU, Med MoU, Paris MoU, and Riyadh MoU. These inspections are carried out under the framework of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in regions near Turkiye, including the Black Sea, Marmara Sea, Mediterranean Sea, and Red Sea. During these inspections, ships may be detained if deficiencies are identified in accordance with their obligations under international agreements. Shipowners and management companies face significant loss of time, money, and reputation while addressing these deficiencies.
